Mr. Nemoto Glass Crafts

The water finger of the tea ceremony which was subjected to complicated cutting (Mizusashi)

Forget the former generation who was awarded the Huang Ryu
Outstanding skill that freely handles diverse carvings

Mr. Yukio Nemoto of the predecessor was a great traditional craftsman who received the Huangyu reward in Heisei 21.
A serious attitude towards making a work can be appreciated even by anecdotes that he purposely learned the tea ceremony to make water finger (Mizusashi) which is a tool of tea ceremony.

This water finger is a gem that expresses complex expressions that the surface creates with facets, but there is not only design that is superior.
Considering actually using it as a water finger, it is calculated to be thin as a whole so as not to become too heavy.

It is only one masterpiece in the world where the thought of the former age "craftsman is not alone" is put.

A large dish stamped as "sunflower"

Glass is expensive material itself
The product will surely become expensive

At the workshop of Edo Kiriko, I will not use the base glass base material, but because I will use what was made with mold blowing at other workshops, the cost will inevitably increase. The larger the glass bodies are, the more expensive they are, so the large-sized pieces of work are of course the corresponding amount.
The big Edo Kiriko products are good for gifts with good appearance, but as the daily use of the common people it is not the thing that the middle hands reach.

If used safely it is a plate of Edo Kiriko of one creature. I would like to try it as a gift for those who are important.

Crystal glass dish with vivid shades

I can not do it with just acid polishing
The commitment to polish further from there

Edo Kiriko's material is mainly soda glass and crystal glass.

Soda glass is a very common glass that is often used for window glasses and dishes, and because it contains sodium carbonate as a raw material, it has come to be called so.

Crystal glass has a larger refractive index than soda glass and has a radiance, so it is used for fine tableware and accessories. Generally refer to what contains more than 24% lead oxide as raw material.
Crystal glass contains a lot of lead, so when you play with your fingers it is a huge feature that a sharp, clear metal sound echoes.

When using crystal glass for Edo Kiriko, polishing is called "acid polishing", it is done by dissolving in the liquid containing sulfuric acid etc. and finishing by melting the surface of the glass.
At present it is the current situation that finishing with acid polishing by outsourcing is increasing from the viewpoint of cost as well but at Nemoto Glass Crafting Co., we will return the product polished with acid polish by outsourcing to the workshop again and finish the final polishing It is done by the hand of man.

The surface of crystal glass, which was done with the hand of the final finish, gets even more brilliant.

Grass of Kuro Edo Kiriko with a novel impression

Black is difficult because its color is transparent
Old glass which makes you feel somewhere new

The covering glasses are cut while looking through the inside of the glass, relying on the light bulbs.
For that reason, black covered glass that does not allow light to pass through is difficult to check the indexing line, and cutting is much more difficult than other colors.

At Nemoto Glass Crafts Co., Ltd., we handle a lot of this Kuro Edo Kiriko which is more difficult to cut.
Among the many Edo Kiriko neatly arranged in the showcase, Kuro Edo Kiriko has a fresh and modern atmosphere somewhere.

Yagose and Fish child (Nanako) 's sweet sake

Valuable sweet sake left by the previous generation
A certain technique and knowledge that contributed to Satsuma Kiko's revival

Mr. Yukio Nemoto of the predecessor was also a shadow meritorious contributor who made a great contribution to Satsuma Kiriko's "Resurrection for the first time in 100 years."

At the end of the Edo period, Satsuma Kiriko, who had reached the prosperous season with strong support from the Shimadzu family, unfortunately disappeared during the confusion of the end of Edo Period.
In the 1980s, in Kagoshima the momentum of Satsuma Kiko's reconstruction increased. So the engineer invited to Kagoshima was a student of Mr. Yukio.

After that, with the efforts of many people involved in the research on colored glass, it was worthwhile for Satoraki Kiriko to make a revival.
This sweet bean is carefully decorated in the showcase of Nemoto Glass Crafts as a dish that seems to be one piece of skill that is also linked to Mr. Yukio's Satsuma Kiriko.

A slightly yellowish warm glass

Glass made by reusing fluorescent tubes
Glass is earth-friendly material

At present domestically, 400 million fluorescent tubes are annually disposal, of which more than 85% are landfilled and concerned about contamination of mercury in the soil.
By using recycled glass treated completely to mercury detoxification, we were able to produce safe and environmentally friendly glasses.
In addition, we do not dare remove the color and small air bubbles peculiar to recycled glass and use it as a warm design.

Production of glasses is carried out by Edo Glass Traditional Craftsmen, handmade, with each one having a dignity.
